Ophea's Asthma Education Initiative is designed to increase the skills and knowledge of educators about asthma management and prevention in schools.
The purpose of the Asthma Education Initiative is to increase awareness and provide outreach and asthma education materials to those in school environments that play a role in the prevention and management of asthma. With an education and communication approach, the core activities of this initiative include public education materials, an integrated communication strategy, the incorporation of key asthma messages into other resource centre materials and services, and partnership-building.
Ophea's Asthma Education Initiative is managed by the Ophea Curriculum and School-Based Health Resource Centre in support of the Ontario Asthma Plan of Action. Ophea supports Ontario's school communities through advocacy, quality programs and services, and partnership-building to enable children and youth to lead active healthy lives.
