Health and Physical Education Curriculum Implementation Support

The Ophea H&PE Curriculum Implementation Supports include the following components: outreach and education, resource development and dissemination, training and support, and networking and partnership-building. Specific examples include the H&PE Binders, workshops and consultations, all of which are designed to increase the knowledge and skills of educators, through the implementation of quality health and physical education programs.

The H&PE Binders (Kindergarten - Grade 10) are designed to ensure that quality health and physical education is a priority in Ontario school communities. The H&PE Binders include lesson plans, daily physical activity ideas, and black line masters.

Ophea offers a variety of workshops to meet the needs of new and generalist teachers, elementary and secondary H&PE teachers, school administrators and leaders of H&PE programs in schools, school boards and faculties of education.

Consultation services are also available. Educators can phone or email with any questions or concerns regarding the implementation of the H&PE Curriculum Implementation Support.

The Ophea H&PE Curriculum Implementation Supports are funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services through the Ophea Curriculum and School-Based Health Resource Centre, part of the Ontario Health Promotion Resource System (OHPRS).
