Ophea’s Concussion Prevention, Identification, and Management for Schools 2023/24 e-Learning module

2023-24 eLearning Updates 
Ophea’s interactive e-Learning modules are 1-2 hours in length and feature a variety of instructional methods. Certificates of completion are provided once modules are completed successfully. You can continue to enroll in any of the modules up until June 30th, 2024. 

After this date, enrollment will be closed until August 12th, 2024. If you have already enrolled in the module, you may continue to access it to complete and download your certificate until July 15th, 2024. The revised versions for the 2024/2025 school year will be available on our website the week of August 12th, 2024. 

Ophea’s Concussion Prevention, Identification, and Management for Schools e-Learning module was developed to increase awareness and understanding of concussion and of the methods and strategies to be used for identification and appropriate management of concussions. The module also includes strategies and resources to assist in concussion prevention and education. This e-Learning module is intended for all school staff including educators, administrators, and support staff.  

By the end of this e-Learning module participants will increase their awareness and understanding of the following: 

  • Why concussion education is important 
  • What a concussion is (including, the definition, signs and symptoms, and seriousness of concussions) 
  • How to identify and to respond to a suspected concussion 
  • How to support students returning to school, including returning to learning and returning to physical activity after being diagnosed with a concussion 
  • Strategies and resources to assist in concussion prevention and education 

Throughout this e-Learning module participants will engage in a variety of learning tasks. Participants will also engage in Pause and Reflect activities during which they will consider what is being asked and make connections to their own knowledge and experiences.
