Secondary Activities

This resource includes activity cards tailored for the different physical activity opportunities available throughout the school day and across the school year. The activities facilitate opportunities to foster the development of learning skills, work habits, and living skills through small-sided, modified, and low organizational games.

Curricular - Physical Education Activity Cards - Using the Teaching Games for Understanding approach, the activities provide experiences for participants to develop skills and strategies associated with the Movement Competence strand in the Grade 9-12 Health & Physical Education Curriculum. These activity cards have been designed to be incorporated into Physical Education lessons.

Intramural Activity Cards - Supporting the inclusion of participants of all abilities during non-instructional times, the activities are student-focused, inclusive, and maximize physical activity participation and enjoyment for everyone in a safe environment.

Tips for Successful Intramurals

  • Consider having intramural student leaders who are in charge of the equipment and activity set-up.
  • Take the time to review the Inclusive Approaches Open Class videos and the Adaptations and Accommodations in the activity cards.
