The Ministry of Education recently revised the Daily Physical Activity (DPA) policy (PPM 138) which supports 20 minutes of DPA during instructional time, contributing to the goal of getting children and youth active for 60 minutes every day.
To support the implementation of DPA and enhance the connection between physical activity and student well-being and achievement, Ophea has developed DPA Every Day. This is a free resource encouraging healthy, active living and inspiring students, families, and staff to get active every day.
DPA Every Day provides an opportunity to engage in conversations about the benefits of being active throughout the school day in Grades 1-8. The resource includes a DPA poster available to download and video (coming in Spring 2018) in both English and French.
A copy of the DPA Every day poster has been sent to all elementary classrooms (Grades 1-8) in Ontario. Share pics of the poster, how you’re engaging in classroom conversations and supporting 20 minutes of DPA everyday with us on Twitter using #DPAEveryDay.
