Ophea’s Concussion Prevention, Identification, and Management for Schools e-Learning module was developed to increase awareness and understanding of concussion and of the methods and strategies to be used for identification and appropriate management of concussions. The module also includes strategies and resources to assist in concussion prevention and education. This e-Learning module is intended for all school staff including educators, administrators, and support staff.
By the end of this e-Learning module participants will increase their awareness and understanding of the following:
- Why concussion education is important
- What a concussion is (including, the definition, signs and symptoms, and seriousness of concussions)
- How to identify and to respond to a suspected concussion
- How to support students returning to school, including returning to learning and returning to physical activity after being diagnosed with a concussion
- Strategies and resources to assist in concussion prevention and education
Throughout this e-Learning module participants will engage in a variety of learning tasks. Participants will also engage in Pause and Reflect activities during which they will consider what is being asked and make connections to their own knowledge and experiences.
