This resource includes activity cards tailored for the different physical activity opportunities available throughout the school day and across the school year. The activities facilitate opportunities to foster development of social-emotional learning skills through small-sided, modified, and low organizational games.
Curricular - Physical Education Activity Cards - Using the Teaching Games for Understanding approach, the activities provide experiences for participants to develop skills and strategies associated with the Movement Competence strand in the Grade 1-8, Health & Physical Education Curriculum. These activity cards have been designed to be incorporated into Physical Education lessons.
DPA Activity Cards - Prioritizing healthy, active living through meaningful movement across the school day, the activities support the Daily Physical Activity Policy (PPM 138), while fostering reflective conversations on how participants can embed and value physical activity throughout the day.
Intramural Activity Cards - Supporting the inclusion of participants of all abilities during non-instructional times, the activities are student-focused, inclusive, and maximize physical activity participation and enjoyment for everyone in a safe environment.
Recess Activity Cards - Providing ideas and strategies on how to increase student engagement through physical activity during recess time.
