This section includes a series of activity cards for the Intermediate division for Winter, Spring, and Fall.
The activities are divided by four categories: Curricular - Physical Education, DPA, Intramurals, and Recess.
Fall
Curricular - Physical Education Activity Cards
Guard the Nest
Participants use game strategies, passing and sending skills in this territory-type game to knock down the ‘logs’ of the opposing team while engaging in physical activity in a fall environment.
Squirrels on the Run
Participants must work together and apply strategies and tactics to evade capture by predators and avoid disease while they gather and store food (implements) for winter in a fall environment.
DPA Activity Cards
Fall Ball
Participants use the natural features of their outside playing area to practice sending objects to a target in order to complete a co-constructed course in as few moves as possible.

Apples in the Bucket
Participants engage in an active, fun, striking/fielding activity that makes connections to fall harvests and provides additional opportunities to be active throughout the school day.

Participants engage in an active, fun, territory game that makes connections to fall harvests and provides additional opportunities to be active throughout the school day.
Recess Activity Cards
All My Friends
Participants share their favourite activities, foods, and games that they enjoy during the fall season in an active format.
Trees and Leaves
Participants race their partners to perform a variety of locomotor skills, then return to their spot in order to earn a point for their half of the ‘tree’.
Winter
Curricular - Physical Education Activity Cards
Cool Game!
Participants create and play a modified small-sided game, adapting the game to winter conditions. Participants reflect on how weather and outdoor clothing affect their movement and game strategy and how they can introduce their game to friends and family to help them stay active in winter.
Snow Cornhole
Participants practice sending an object to target while adapting to winter conditions. Participants explore how their movements are affected by weather conditions and their outdoor clothing to adjust their game strategy. Participants consider how they can play this game with friends and family to stay active in winter.

Participants engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity in a winter environment to enhance their fitness and overall health and wellness. Participants reflect on ways to be active in winter and engage others in activity to build a habit of engaging in outdoor activity throughout the year.

Participants engage in a fun activity in a winter environment to build healthy relationships and social connections with others, appreciating the benefits of being physically active outdoors all year long, and for additional opportunities to be active throughout the school day.
Snow Softball Speedball
Participants engage in a fun activity in a winter environment to build healthy relationships and social connections with others, appreciating the benefits of being physically active outdoors all year long.

Corner Switch
Participants engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity in a winter environment to enhance their physical and mental health and wellness.
Hibernation Tag
Students learn a winter game to play at recess to engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity and enhance their physical and mental health and wellness in a winter environment.
Spring

Participants utilize sending and receiving skills and net/wall strategies to send a ball into an opponent's quadrant while defending their own area and thinking creatively about healthy eating and environmental stewardship.

Participants learn about population dynamics in ecosystems in this high-energy activity as they search for resources.

In this modified tag meets hide-and-seek game, participants avoid capture and utilise evasiveness tactics to endeavour to make it back to ‘home base’ without being seen.

Multisensory Mindfulness
This grounding activity provides participants with an opportunity to slow down, breathe deeply, and focus on finding some quiet time during their day to reduce stress, relax, and refocus.
