Activities

The Play for All resource includes activities tailored for various physical activity opportunities as part of an intramural program. The activities are curated to support educators, student leaders, and school staff who assist with intramurals in selecting activities that promote inclusion of every student, attend to students’ interests and needs, and maximize physical activity participation and enjoyment in a physically and emotionally safe environment.

The activities may be used to support a range of approaches to intramurals, such as a scheduled structure or drop-in format, to accommodate different groupings of participants (e.g., individuals, pairs, small or large groups), and the focus of the activity (e.g., competitive or cooperative).

Intramural organizers can select activities based on factors specific to their intramural program, such as the number of participants, participants developmental stage (i.e., primary, junior, intermediate, or senior students), student input, available time, equipment, and location.
