What Is it All About?

A healthy and safe space for students to openly discuss questions surrounding growth and development.

Why Do It?

Starting the discussion in a safe space will foster the ability for students to continue talking about this in their community and peer groups.

How Do We Do It?

Come up with 3-5 questions related to growth and development.

Write these on large pieces of paper and set them on desks around your classroom.

Designate a student to be the ‘host’ at each table. They will stay at the same table to record discussion points.

Students spend 5-10 minutes at each table in groups discussing the question in front of them.

Students rotate tables and then all come together for the ‘hosts’ to recap everything that was discussed at their table.

What Else Do We Need?

  • Paper for the hosts to record on
  • Snacks if you want to provide food

How Do We Get Creative?

Invite community partners to host tables and provide expert information to students.

Develop an interactive board in the hallway to continue the conversation with other students.

Place fidget toys, markers and paper on the tables to allow all students to feel comfortable and support focus.
