Energizers in School

8 Whatevers

Throughout the day the student leader calls out “8 Whatevers” and working in small groups or individually, students participate in or lead a group through their favourite on-the-spot physical activity.

Walking Wednesday

Students create a walking track around the school. During a specified time throughout the day, classes take turns on the track walking or running for 20 minutes.

Try It Out Tuesday Drop-in

During lunch hours on Tuesdays students can go to the gym and engage in new or unique physical activities.

Wellness Challenge

Students participate in a daily physical activity circuit over a period of time to increase their personal wellness and physical literacy.

Walk to School

Teams of students, teachers, parents, and community partners create a plan for safer walking routes to school.

Pop-Up Activity Stations

A variety of physical activity stations requiring no equipment are placed throughout the school or in specific activity areas in order to create a useable pop-up physical activity workout.

Massive Atom

As a whole school or class, students travel around the activity area and form groups based on the call of the group leader.

Home Activity Kits

Compile bags of equipment and activity instructions for students to borrow and take home for a weekend.

Parent Activities during Parent Night

Student leaders and members of the community lead parents through an activity session during Parent Night to promote physical activity and healthy, active living.

Caught Choosing Healthy

Promoting healthy choices by giving out a healthy school reward for students observed making healthy choices during the school day.

Family Activity Scavenger Hunt

Set up a scavenger hunt around the school campus for students and parents to complete together. Students and parents work together to make their way through each checkpoint and perform the corresponding physical activity.

Family Fitness Night Deck of Fun

Families work collaboratively to complete on-the-spot physical activities assigned to playing cards, in order to deal as many cards as possible within the given time during a family night.
